Monday: SpeedRazor Introduction and Pre-Production
Students will be introduced to the SpeedRazor editing software. Specifically: An overview about SpeedRazor; what is, and, how to create, a New Project File. Advantages of saving "versions", and video/audio tracks.
We will also go over your Story #1 Checklist and plan out the week according to due dates within the checklist. DUE TODAY: PROVIDE A CREW LIST INCLUDING; SEGMENT PRODUCER, CAMERA OPERATOR, ON-AIR TALENT, PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Tuesday and Wednesday: Pre-Production
News Crews will work in teams to develop the items from the Story #1 checklist that are due to be turned in.
In this lesson, students will produce a news broadcast. In teams of 4-5, students will create and film a segment of a school news show. In the process of planning their segments, students will study news broadcasts; learn how to create a production breakdown and create a shot list, production schedule and shooting schedule; utilize production and film techniques such as setting, presentation, props, camera angles and editing
