This Week:
Filmmaking Techniques Recording Assignment: Each crew will be given a "Shot Sheet" from the Filmmaking Techniques video. Your crew must set up (block) each of the shot types listed and record a 3 to 5 second example of the technique. The shots must be labeled; create cue cards or state on camera which "technique" you are taping. Be sure to have your camera white balanced with proper iris settings.
HANDOUT: Students will also receive a handout "Filmmaking Techniques" with a full list of required techniques.
HOMEWORK: Filmmaking Techniques Definitions/Due Thursday:
You are to look up and write a definition for all of the terms found on the "Filmmaking Techniques" handout. Please have it typed (in the order as found on handout) with your Name, Date, Hour on the top.

Camera Set-up Proficiency Preparation
Each student must practice proper camera set-up procedure during class time, including:
- tripod preparation
- camera mount on tripod
- leveling tripod head
- mounting battery on camera
- powering up camera
- inserting tape into camcorder
- connecting an external microphone to camcorder
- settings for microphone input
- white balance
- iris adjustments
